The art of saree weaving in India is an ancient skill, often passed down in families. In India's Uttar Pradesh, Faizul faces a changing world that offers meager wages for his craftsmanship, which is even more challenging as he develops vision problems. His Muslim faith gives him strength, and he is determined to continue to provide for his family, build his dream home and continue his craft. His resilience amid struggles is a story reflective of the lives of everyday Indians.Biography:
Abhijit V is an independent documentary filmmaker from India, exploring the intersection of cultural significance and social interventions within grassroots communities. He is interested in how local traditions and social realities inform and reshape one another. With a focus on compelling visuals and nuanced themes, he creates films that reflect my lived experiences on the ground and bring forward stories that often remain unheard.
