Biography:

Brennan Wilder Vance is an award-winning filmmaker. His Emmy-winning cinematography has been featured on HBO, Netflix, PBS, NBC and Starz and at such film festivals as Tribeca, SXSW, Slamdance and Full Frame. He wrote and directed the fiction feature The Missing Sun, which took part in the IFP Narrative Labs, received the Special Jury Prize at the Ashland Film Festival and earned a McKnight Media Arts Fellowship. Vance also produces, directs and DP’s commercial projects.

Norah Shapiro is an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and director/producer at Flying Pieces Productions. Her latest film, Magic & Monsters, exposes the long-buried story of widespread sexual abuse at America's preeminent children’s theater and the survivors’ pursuit of accountability and healing. A runner-up for the 2024 Library of Congress/Lavine Ken Burns Prize for Film is now streaming on Kinema. Her previous feature, Time for Ilhan, chronicled the historic first congressional campaign of Ilhan Omar–the nation's first Somali-American legislator–and received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing. Earlier works include Miss Tibet: Beauty in Exile and If You Dare. Shapiro’s work has been recognized and supported by the IDA Enterprise Grant, Catapult Film Fund, Jerome Foundation and the McKnight Filmmaking Fellowship, among others. A former public defender, she pairs the analytical precision of a trial attorney with a filmmaker's creative vision to craft stories that demand accountability and illuminate the human experience.
