Director: Anayansi Prado

Producers: Ina Fichman, David Goldblum, Anayansi Prado

Description:

Angeli Gomez is a mother who captured national attention when she ran into Robb Elementary in Uvalde, TX, to save her two sons during one of the deadliest mass shootings in the United States, while law enforcement waited to intervene. In the aftermath, Gomez faced harassment from authorities due to her past. As members of the Uvalde community demand change and justice, conflicting narratives begin to emerge, and the Department of Justice launches an investigation. Uvalde Mom simultaneously spotlights an ordinary, working class, Latina single mom and centers her as an American hero while also uncovering a faulty system that has been exposed by this tragedy.
