Faced with a deep economic and social crisis, many Britons believe that this departure was a mistake. A dark anger runs through society, across all generations, among both those who voted for Brexit and those who voted to remain in the European Union. In eight years, five Prime Ministers have taken office, four of whom resigned dramatically, unable to deliver on their populist promises. How did this political chaos take hold?
Biography:
Thomas Johnson is an acclaimed documentary film director and producer. He directed The Battle of Chernobyl, In the Wake of Stalin, Atomic Alert, 30 Years Of War In The Name Of God, and The Hand and the Spirit. He co-founded M Way Films to produce creative documentary films oriented towards the sharing of knowledge, arts and culture.
Eric Albert is a Le Monde journalist and co-author with Thomas Johnson of the film Bregret. He worked twenty years as British correspondent for the French newspaper Le Monde. He has daily covered Brexit since the referendum in 2016. He also worked with Thomas Johnson in 2021, on their first film on Brexit, Backstage of a Divorce. He is now back in Paris, as European economic correspondent at Le Monde.
