Biography:
Betsy West is an Academy Award®-nominated Emmy winning director/producer. Most recently, she and Cohen were the executive producers of Frida, which won the editing prize in 2024 at Sundance and premiered on Amazon this March. They previously directed Gabby Giffords Won’t Back Down, available on streaming platforms. Their documentary Julia was shortlisted for an Oscar, and My Name is Pauli Murray won the 2022 duPont Columbia and Peabody Awards. Before becoming a filmmaker, Betsy had a long career in network television news, first at ABC where she oversaw the documentary program Turning Point and won 21 Emmy Awards, and then at CBS where she was the executive in charge of 60 Minutes.
