Stand Together as One discusses the events surrounding the 1983-85 drought and subsequent famine in Ethiopia. During this time, Kenyan photojournalist Mohamed Amin and his BBC colleagues, Michael Buerk and Mike Wooldridge, risked their lives to overcome the restrictions of the Ethiopian government and civil war to bring forth the truth behind what can be considered the worst humanitarian crisis of the 20th century. This reporting inspired Bob Geldof and Harry Belafonte to connect music to global humanitarian relief through the hit, We Are the World, and the highly successful Live Aid and Band Aid concert series. While their efforts didn't stop the civil war or solve world hunger, their massive successes provide a blueprint for future possibilities.

Chip Duncan is an American documentary filmmaker, author, and photographer. His work centers around history, travel, and current affairs. Throughout his career in television, Duncan created and produced content for NBC, Discovery Network, and public broadcast. His documentary, The Sound Man, was shown at and won awards at multiple film festivals around the world. Duncan also produced Eden, which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival. He is the president of the Duncan Group, Inc., a documentary and film production company.
