Description:

Dr. Birute Galdikas is a primatologist who has devoted 54 years of her life to research and rescue Orangutans in Borneo. This short film explores Dr. Galdikas’ continuous, decades-long field study to conserve the fragile habitat of these great apes.

Biography:

Charles Annenberg Weingarten is the Vice President and Director of the Annenberg Foundation, which supports both American and global nonprofits through its funding. As a philanthropist, Weingarten established the Online Communities Program of the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California and supported a myriad of educational organizations, ranging from maternal healthcare initiatives in Ethiopia to monitoring the Orca populations of the Pacific Northwest. Weingarten’s recent philanthropic venture, Explore, utilizes traditional and digital media to broadcast environment conservation efforts around the world. Weingarten has also produced and directed several short films on human rights and environmental concerns that were featured in film festivals.
