Journey of the Piano Tuner
(8 minutes) UK/Vietnam
Director: Danny Weinstein
Producers: David Notman-Watt, Ginita Jimenez and Danny Weinstein

Description:
The Journey of the Piano Tuner is an intimate, poetic documentary that tells the dramatic story of Anva Luc and the day that changed his life. His journey takes him from a childhood during the Vietnam War of the 1970s to a new life in England as a piano tuner. Shot on the movie mode of a tiny digital camera, the film uses dreams and memories to reveal his extraordinary story.

Biography:
David Notman-Watt founded back2back productions in 2000. Since then the company has grown from strength to strength, creating award-winning work and gaining wide-spread industry recognition. He is an established documentary filmmaker and has filmed, directed and produced over sixty broadcast documentary films. In 2006, David won a Grierson Award for his documentary Take That: For the Record--winning Best Documentary on the Arts. The previous year he was BAFTA nominated for Leo and Ze, a harrowing documentary made in the heart of the drug trafficking gangs of Rio de Janeiro as part of U.K.-based Channel 4's Cocaine series. David started his career freelancing-- covering worldwide breaking-news stories as both field producer and cameraman. In the late 1990s he began making documentaries and has since traveled the world filming and directing for national and international broadcasters.

Danny Weinstein won a 2006 Screen South award for this project.
