The Menace of Land Mines

Director: Ingrid Kasper
Producer: United Nations
(14 minutes) U.S.A.
screening schedule

Land mines are a terrible legacy of war. In more than 60 countries, over 110 million land mines await the footfall of an innocent child, the hoe of a farmer, the tread of an unwary citizen. With its images of farm lands, riddled with mines, lying fallow, and many facing starvation, this documentary presents the economic and psychological havoc land mines can wreak. It also gives a glimpse of difficult work involved to remove the mines.

bio: Ingrid Kasper is a German- based documentarist, dealing with issues of women's health, conservation and drug prevention.
